The 2023 Block Party was a great success, despite the rain! We even had an "Adventure Raffle" and a donut-eating contest in extra-hard mode during a thunderstorm and downpour. Thank you for all of those who helped out and attended, especially to the Good Trouble Bass Band who performed for us!

The 2010 Block Party was a great success! Thank you for all of those who helped out and attended! As Phil said, "Yes, the weather was perfect, the company superb, the food excellent, the children well-behaved, and the drumming a great addition. And I ended up with a rainbow on my face."
A special Thank You to all of our sponsors this year! Our raffle raised $428 for a local charity: this year's winner was CASPAR, the Cambridge and Somerville alcohol and drug rehabilitation program.

Tonight the Mayor & Aldermen of the City of Somerville awarded our John McKenzie a City Citation & Proclamation for his commitment to the community, prepariong and serving weekly homemade meals to the elderly and homeless for the past 28 years. Frank Senesi, Director of Veterans Affairs, also awarded our Mr. McKenzie a World War II City of Somerville Medal of Honor. The ceremony was beautiful and was attended by John's family, many friends/neighbors, and Masonic Lodge Brothers. Thank you to Our Mayor Curtatone and Alderman Rebekah Gewirtiz for helping to get the Citation/Proclamation, contacting the Veterans Affairs and for the beautiful ceremony and presentation and for taking the time to honor John. Also, thank you to everyone that wrote in support of the award and for attending the ceremony. John has also been invited to be a guest of the Mayor's at an October City of Somerville All American City event. Thank you again, John, for all of your service to our community.
